Worthing has a reputation as a leisurely seaside holiday base. However families will find plenty of entertainment along the seafront at family attraction hotspots which include Worthing Pier and Amusements at Worthing Lido.
Move east of the pier for Worthing's huge swimming and leisure complex, the Worthing Aquarena which also has an adjacent outdoor paddling pool which is a very popular attraction with children during the summer months. Peter Pans Playground is also situated near the Aquarena, and east towards Lancing is Brooklands Pleasure Park.

Worthing Beach, Pier & Lido Amusements
Worthing's award winning pier was Pier of the Year in 2006 and is a popular Worthing spot for families with an indoor amusement area and plenty of seating and refreshments available. Worthing Pier has also recently played host to the famous Bognor Birdman Event whilst Bognor Pier renovations are pending. Worthing seafront has a long 5 mile promenade which is perfect for seaside strolling or skating and spot the famous Worthing palm trees planted along the promenade. The effect is particularly striking at night when fairylights light up the promenade. Nicknamed 'Sunny Worthing' in the past, Worthing benefits from one of the warmest and sunniest climates in the UK on this stretch of the South East Coast.
Worthing Beach is a Quality Coast Award Winner which means it has achieved a good standard of water quality, beach cleanliness, provision of well maintained toilets for all and signed car parking. Worthing's Foreshore team and lifeguards are located between the Pier and Lido.
Just to the west of Worthing Pier sits the Lido family entertainment centre which is free to enter and ideal for families with on-site coffee bar, restaurant, ice cream parlour and various children's rides and a Games Arcade. Opening hours are from 11am to 5pm March to October and 10am to 6pm from April to September.
Worthing Aquarena Swimming & Outdoor Paddling Pool
Worthing's main swimming and leisure centre, the Aquarena is impressive. The swimming pool is huge here at 33 metres long with additional swimming facilities inclusive of learner pool, diving boards, flume, sauna, steam room, sunbeds and the Pulsecity Health and Fitness Centre. A big attraction for children in the Summer is the outdoor Paddling Pool situated next to the Aquarena. The Paddling Pool usually opens daily from the beginning of June through to early September from 10am to 6pm subject to weather conditions. Lifeguards are permanently present and an ice cream kiosk with fun inflatables available to buy is adjacent to the Paddling Pool. Budget family fun is guaranteed as the Paddling Pool is free to enter!

Peter Pans Playground Worthing
Situated at Beach House Park near the Aquarena off the Brighton Road is the outdoor kids fun area - Peter Pans Playground. Particularly good for younger children, rides include trampolines, a ball pond, punch bags, a death slide, bouncy castle and an inflatable slide, an under fives play area and a mini train.
A cafe is on-site and the entrance fee is for the whole day.

Brooklands Pleasure Park Worthing
Just east of Worthing town centre along the seafront towards Lancing is the popular Brooklands Pleasure Park. Attractions for families with children are extensive here and include pony rides, a paddling pool open during summer, trike ride, trampolines, bouncy castles, a kids play park and an indoor ball pool.
The Brooklands site is huge and also offers go-karting plus contains a large lake with motorboats available for hire. Parking is on-site. Brooklands Go-Karts and Mini Moto Circuit consists of two circuits, with the Oval Track more suitable for beginners. There are two sizes of Kart too - junior and adult so all the family can enjoy a run. Mini Moto Clubs run throughout the year and Party bookings are welcome. Tel. 07867 762106 for details.
