Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club

The Seagulls - Brighton & Hove Albion FC are one of the south's most famous football teams. With a longstanding loyal fan base that were outraged when the famous Goldstone Ground on the Old Shoreham Road in Hove was lost and the team were homeless for a short period in the late 1990s before ending up at the Withdean Stadium near Preston Park, the team has caused a few sensations over the years.

Plans look set now for the new stadium at Falmer on the outskirts of Brighton near the University of Sussex north east of the city centre. The Seagulls are 'migrating' again. Hardly surprising that the Goldstone Ground was a great loss for fans. The Albion saw its first game here in 1902 with the last game held in April 1997. The new Falmer Football Stadium is set to open in 2010 and promises a real boost to the team.
