Mary and Hugh welcome you to The 4* Strand Guest House located close to Rye. Dating back to the 13th century, this Tudor House offers luxury Bed and Breakfast accommodation in a quiet, relaxed and calm atmosphere. We are the ideal base from which to explore the local area, close to local houses, gardens, steam railways, walking, cycling and birdwatching. Wake up to our renowned Sussex breakfast, let us prepare you a packed lunch or enjoy afternoon tea and cake in our garden. Return to a delicious evening meal served in our elegant dining room. All our ingredients are fresh, local and cooked with skill and passion by Mary and her team. We can cater for specific dietary requirements. Strand House is an approved venue for Marriage ceremonies, civil partnerships and the renewal of vows, celebrations, private dining, holidays and Christmas.

We offer 10 guest rooms, each with individual character, size and style, all with original features. They range from the luxury four poster Tudor Room to rooms with double beds, king and twin, a garden room on the ground floor and a family room. Two have baths and the rest en-suite showers, all have colour televisions, coffee/tea making facilities with hand made biscuits and hanging space. The superior rooms have tables and chairs and fluffy dressing gowns and use of a DVD / video library. Relax in our small sitting room at the rear of the house with books and games, or in our residents bar with wines, spirits and local beer to sample.
