Character B&B accommodation near Rye, in the heart of 1066 country, with optional evening meals close to the seafront. No children, many period features.

Frances and John welcome you to The Old Vicarage, set in the leafy village of Icklesham. We offer 2 double En-suite bedrooms in a pet friendly non smoking environment. The B&B is in a charming Georgian house built in 1820 but has all modern amenities including WIFI. Our B&B is surrounded by fragrant apple orchards wound through with footpaths and we are a short walk to a nature conservation wood. Two fantastic beaches are also nearby.

We pride ourselves on seasonal, locally sourced food. We visit the Farmer's Market in Rye, Fraysland Dairy, a local farm shop, and Judge's bakery owned by chocolatiers Green and Blacks. We source our meat from a local butchers and offer a full English breakfast. Our local pub, the Queen's Head is within 3mins walking distance, which has outdoor seating, stunning views and is dog friendly. We are close to the Church and are only a few miles from the ancient Cinque ports of Rye 5m & Winchelsea 1m. Hastings Old Town is only 6m away.

Rooms Description

The two En-suite bedrooms are at the top of the house with delightful views over the garden and towards the church, both have double beds. Our rates are for a Double Room including a hearty breakfast are £85 per night. additional nights are £80 per night. Seasonal weekly rates are also available.

Directions

Icklesham is about 6 mileas outside Hastings Old Town towards Rye. Once you enter Icklesham drive passed a public house called the Robin Hood (which will be on your right) carry on about another half mile and you will see a sign on the left for The Queens Head Pub, go past this and about 500 yards on the opposite side of the road on the right is a turning into the Church car park. The Old Vicarage is up a short drive off the church car park. If you are comming from Rye, head for Winchelsea ,stay on the main road, go passed Winchelsea and the road widens with open countryside on both sides. As you see the 30mph speed limit sign you will see the church on the left. Just after the 30mph and "Icklesham" sign turn immidiately left into the Church car park
