St Mary’s, 4 Wellington Gardens is situated on the well kept grasslands of the West Hill, overlooking the old town, fishing harbour and the sea. Hastings Castle is at the same elevation about 200 yards to the west and the St Clements Caves and the Smugglers Caves are at a similar distance to the east. The house is located on a well known beauty spot and a stay in these surroundings is very pleasant indeed. Near the house is a lift run by Hastings Council in summer, which takes one down to, or up from, the sea front. The town centre is a few minutes walk down Castle Hill Road and from most windows there is a wonderful view of the sea.

St Mary's is the old rectory of St Mary's Star of the Sea church in the Old Town. it is a large Victorian building, still with original features and still having a cosy family feel about it. Quite often our holidaymakers are surprised by the large, airy rooms and the wonderful views from the first and second floor windows. The ground floor flat has the largest rooms and a small enclosed garden, which is ideal for dogs or they have the lawns of the West Hill to romp to their heat's delight. We have many regular customers, who have been coming for years and we hope that you will enjoy the house as much as they do and we strive to make your stay as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. Fresh flowers, tea and coffee are supplied on arrival to help you settle in and relax into your holiday.

Rooms Description

All the flats are one bedroom (all of which have recently had new, luxury mattresses and beds), with sofa/futon beds in the sitting rooms and in some of the dining rooms. They all sleep 2/4 people. The flats are fully furnished, self-catering units and are 1 and 2 star rated by the Tourist Board. They all have baths with showers and a fully equipped kitchen. There are washer/dryers available on two floors, for the use of the guests. There is constant hot water and central heating is available all year round.

Specialities

Dogs are allowed in the ground floor flat, as there is a small garden, but the house is also surrounded by large tracts of grass, stretching down to the Old Town. We will be there to welcome you on arrival, show you the flat and answer any questions you might have. We do not live on site, but are at the end of the phone and are happy to help you at any time. Prepare to enjoy the wonderful views over the fire hills, the Old Town and the sea, with Hastings Castle peeping through behind us.

We take bookings all year round.
We already have bookings for August 2010. We are almost fully booked for the 1st May bank holiday.
We do short stays/long week-ends and they start at £175.00 for two to three nights or over a week-end. But no single nights taken.

Discounts & Deals

We can do special deals, if you require a "long holiday booking", ie 4 weeks or more - prices on application.
